Craig Tara Holiday Park is located just a 10-minute drive south of Ayr on the South West coast of Scotland, approximately 42 miles south of Glasgow. This 3 star family park was the former Butlins Ayr camp but has since been taken over by Haven Holidays, a subsidiary of the Bourne Leisure Group. Impeccably organised, it’s one of the biggest holiday parks in Scotland and within the Haven’s portfolio. There is an ample selection of static caravans. Craig Tara is packed with family fun facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, the Lighthouse Harbour Adventure Village and it has its very own 3-par 9-hole golf course making it a great choice for an fun-filled family adventure holiday.

Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park is located within Edinburgh’s city boundary, just 4 miles south, so is perfect if you're looking to combine seeing both the Scottish capital's city attractions whilst relaxing back on site in a secluded 200 acre country estate. Travelling into the city is very easy with regular bus services from the park. Facilities are more basic, there's no swimming pool, but there is Stables bar and a restaurant with its outside sunny courtyard and views of the Pentland hills. Mortonhall has been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation. In the medieval capital, be sure to take time to visit to visit Edinburgh's 11th century castle, go shopping in Princes St and walk up Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park; the sweeping views across the city are terrific.

Seton Sands Holiday Village is located 14 miles east of Edinburgh. A little further outside the Scottish capital but still very much a very short driving distance from this superb holiday village, arguably one of the best in all of Scotland. This pretty family park is set on the beach overlooking the Firth of Forth. This holiday village is managed by the Haven Holidays Leisure company and so, as you could imagine, the park is well equipped with a good standard of fun-filled facilities and amenities, especially the indoor heated swimming pool and the 9-hole golf course. At night there is live evening entertainment. The A1 road takes you quickly into Edinburgh and is a great spot to enjoy the capital's attractions. Along the way, stop in Leith and explore the bars and restaurants around the port.

Lochy Holiday Park is located in Camaghael in Fort William in the Northern tip of the Scottish Highlands. Despite limited facilities on site, this year-round holiday park scores very good reviews and is the closet park to Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain. As you can imagine, set in the back drop of the Highland mountains in open countryside sloping down to River Lochy, the views are magnificent and this park is certainly the gateway to adventure. Outdoor pursuit enthusiasts will find all around vast walking and mountain bike trails on forest tracks and cycling routes in purpose built parks. If you plan to climb Ben Nevis, ‘The Pony Track’ is the simplest route to the summit and it starts at the mountain's Visitor's Center which is only 3 miles from Lochy Holiday Park. Locally you'll also find golf, 'salmon' fishing in River Lochy, sailing and in winter, skiing. In Fort William you'll find a good choice of restaurants to enjoy the evenings.

Loch Lomond Holiday Park is located in Inveruglas, 37 miles north of Glasgow, on the western banks of Loch Lomond. Part of the Wanderwood Lodge Holidays Collection and managed by Argyll Holidays, the park prides itself on delivering first class luxury accommodation and the customer reviews reflect that excellence. However, facilities on site are limited and there is no pool. Kayaks are available, as well as bike rental, and there is a small children's park, but apart from that Loch Lomond is all about the peaceful but very stunning scenery.  Within the area you will find a good selection of country bars and restaurants. The park is nicely situated to explore both Lowlands and the Highlands and all of Arygll on the west coast.

Eyemouth Holiday Park is located in Berwickshire, in the Scottish Borders (SE Scotland) and is managed by Parkdean Resorts. The appeal to Eyemouth is its one of the cheapest holidays parks in Scotland plus its an easy drive from England, just over the border. Set on a headland looking out to sea, with access to beach, one can enjoy family coastal walks along the Berwickshire Coastal Path. On site there's a few children's activities to keep the kids entertained including an amusement arcade, outdoor adventure playground, a multi-sports pitch but generally they are basic. Just a few minutes walk from the park the family can use the local indoor heated swimming pool at no extra charge. Edinburgh is a 1-hour's drive.

Nethercraig Holiday Park is located in Alyth, Perthshire in the Southern Highlands. This award winning park has excellent reviews and is set in private woodland in the Angus Glens. The appeal to Nethercrag are the country sports such as fishing in the adjacent pond, clay pigeon shooting, mountain biking trails, horse riding and the walks in the surrounding countryside. On site their is a football pitch and an an enclosed children's play park. Also for kids, Neverland play park in Kirriemuir (12 miles). There is limmited appeal for children on site, this park is all about exploring the outdoor pursuits. In Alyth (4 miles) there are nice restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. In the area there's a few great golf courses within a short driving distance and you can get discounted rates from reception. Nearby Scottish castles include Glamis Castle (15 miles) and Balmoral Castle (41 miles) and Estate in Cairngorms National Park where the Queen resides in the summer but the main castle is still  open to tourists until August. Perth and Dundee are a 30 mins drive. There's a choice of lodges or static caravans to choose from, the latter being significantly cheaper in high summer season.

St Andrews Forest Lodges

St Andrews Forest Lodges is located in Kipcable, only 3.7 miles from Saint Andrews. Between the woodland park and St Andrew's town is the world famous 15th century 'Old course', the oldest golf course in the world. St Andrews Forest Lodges is a part of the Evermore Lodge Holidays Collection and prides itself on delivering excellence, hence the reason for the excellent customer reviews. This was the only holiday park we found in Scotland that scored a full 5 out of 5 on the customer reviews. If you're here for the Open it's only a 5-minutes’ drive. St Andrews, a medieval University town, is a fascinating place rich in history and you will enjoy the bars, restaurants and charming local shops.

Rosneath Castle Park is located in Rosneath near Helensburgh in Argyll on the West coast of Scotland. If you're in search of a Loch-side holiday Rosneath is a great choice as this park is nestled beside Gare Loch and is a nice base from which to discover the Trossachs and the Highlands. The park has very good reviews and the Scottish Tourist Board rated the site as a 5-star. Loch Lomond (20 miles) and Glasgow (47 miles) are a short driving distance away as well as Inverary Castle and Gardens. There is no pool on site but there is live entertainment, a bar restaurant, a children's games room and there is a sailing school at the lake.
